Have you ever said something you ended up regretting? Just because we think something doesn’t mean we need to say it. This list will help you know when to bite your tongue.

2 Timothy 2:23-24 NLT
Again I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people.

Colossians 3:17 NLT
And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

James 2:12-13 NLT
So whatever you say or whatever you do, remember that you will be judged by the law that sets you free. There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you.

Matthew 12:34 NLT
You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say.

Proverbs 10:14 TLB
A wise man holds his tongue. Only a fool blurts out everything he knows; that only leads to sorrow and trouble.

Job 15:5-6 NLT
Your sins are telling your mouth what to say.
Your words are based on clever deception.
Your own mouth condemns you, not I.
Your own lips testify against you.

Ephesians 4:15-16 TLB
Instead, we will lovingly follow the truth at all times—speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly—and so become more and more in every way like Christ who is the Head of his body, the Church. Under his direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly, and each part in its own special way helps the other parts, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love

Ephesians 4:29 The Voice
Don’t let even one rotten word seep out of your mouths. Instead, offer only fresh words that build others up when they need it most. That way your good words will communicate grace to those who hear them.
