Difficult times will come for all of us, and when they do it can be easy to feel like no one understands. Sometimes we just need someone to listen and comfort us. These Scriptures show us how God can be and wants to be that source of comfort.

Isaiah 49:13

Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song, you mountains! For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.

Isaiah 57:18-19

I have seen their ways, but I will heal them; I will guide them and restore comfort to Israel’s mourners, creating praise on their lips. Peace, peace, to those far and near,” says the Lord. “And I will heal them.”

1 Corinthians 1:9 MSG

“God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that.”

Numbers 23:19 ERV

“God is not a man; he will not lie. God is not a human being; his decisions will not change. If he says he will do something, then he will do it. If he makes a promise, then he will do what he promised.”

1 Corinthians 10:13 MSG

“No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.”

Isaiah 51:3

The Lord will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.

Joshua 23:3 NIV

“You yourselves have seen everything the Lord your God has done to all these nations for your sake; it was the Lord your God who fought for you.”

1 John 4:16 NIV

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”
