Get the word out. Teach all these things. And don’t let anyone put you down because you’re young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity.

1 Timothy 4:11-14 MSG

22 “The seed cast in the weeds is the person who hears the kingdom news, but weeds of worry and illusions about getting more and wanting everything under the sun strangle what was heard, and nothing comes of it.

Matthew 13:22 (MSG)

5 The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith.

1 Timothy 1:5 (NLT)

Mordecai sent this reply to Esther: “Don’t think for a moment that because you’re in the palace you will escape when all other Jews are killed. 14 If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”

Esther 4:13-14 (NLT)

This is why I remind you to keep using the gift God gave you when I laid my hands on[a] you. Now let it grow, as a small flame grows into a fire. 7 God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid but a spirit of power and love and self-control.

2 Timothy 1:6

In order to catch the vision for who God wants you to become and the good your life is supposed to produce, you have to clear your vision.  A ton of distractions compete for our attention and time. However, those distractions (like envy, greed, guilt, and worldliness) stop us from saving and rescuing those on our heart and in our path.

To clear up our vision, we need to be honest about the things that go against our conscience and weigh on us. Talk to a friend and get help understanding spiritual truths about yourself too. Once the heart is free of distractions, God can use us to do good, despite our shortcomings!

What do you think are some sins that have been clouding your vision?

If you weren’t distracted by those sins, how different do you think your life would be?

How do you think God can use your life and talents for good and for others?

This is a post in a series called “15 Days to Become a Force For Good,” which is a follow up to our 2017 Expo.
