68 You are good, and the source of good; train me in your goodness.

Psalm 119:68 MSG

10 God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us to do good works, which God planned in advance for us to live our lives doing.

Ephesians 2:10 NCV

28 We are confident that God is able to orchestrate everything to work toward something good and beautiful when we love Him and accept His invitation to live according to His plan

Romans 8:28 VOICE

I preached first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and through Judea, and also to the Gentiles that all must forsake their sins and turn to God—and prove their repentance by doing good deeds.

Acts 26:20 TLB

16 The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right. 17 It is God’s way of making us well prepared at every point, fully equipped to do good to everyone.

2 Timothy 4:16-17 VOICE

God is good; this can be a difficult belief to sustain in the midst of difficulty, anxiety, or disappointment. But when we believe what the Bible says about God – that he is good and he made us in his image – we will also believe that our lives are meant for doing good. The scriptures above teach that God and good are inseparable, yet too often we can think and talk about God while dismissing the good he destined each of us to do. The greatest evidence of God’s Word and powerful presence moving in our lives is transformative personal change that leads to doing good in the lives of others. When we prioritize our relationship with God above all else in our lives and embrace his purpose for doing good in and through our lives, we can turn obstacles into opportunities through which God can make us into a force for good!

What sin or root of unbelief distracts you from believing that God “orchestrates everything,” including difficulties and obstacles, “to work toward something good and beautiful” in and through your life?

What personal change does God want you to make in your relationship with him, specifically in your obedience to the Bible or in your prayer life, that would unleash God’s power in your life to love and do good for others?

This is a post in a series called “15 Days to Become a Force For Good,” which is a follow up to our 2017 Expo.
